This is fun so far. As you noted, pretty much AU to the whole series.
I'm glad you're writing again. For a long time there have been no updates at all -- I think it's been over a year. So seeing a new story is great!

This is a great story! I think Remus shold push a trail for Narcissa first. That way she can testify to Rowle and get him removed before he can harm Sirius.
Please keep writing.

Still cruising along very nicely, still looking forward to each new chapter, great job. Loving the pacing, even if I do crave seeing Sirius out and Harry safe.

I like the subtle construction of this world and Magical British culture.

Even the Light side of the Wizarding World is dark.

Uh,yeah,that's how things work.

Will other lesser families be involved as in Weasley, Lovegood and maybe McGonagall?
Oh and Granger too, on the nonmagical side!
Kokopelli replied:
Minerva M. gets a few minutes of screen time in Chapter 6, but the other families, not so much.

It's awesome to be getting regular updates on a story I find myself enjoying quite a lot. Everything - the world, the characters, the set pieces - are all so believable in the realm of this universe that I was actually a little surprised by some of the things that aren't canon (if that makes any sense at all.) But I'm reminded that this isn't canon because I'm not tearing my hair out in frustration by characters doing completely bone headed things just to drive the narrative, or so completely out of character that I just have to put the story down and walk away. Seriously enjoying this story, and as unrealistic as it might be, I hope to see it continue for a long time. Thanks for your hard work and effort!
Kokopelli replied:
Chapter 6 is in the can, it's a big chapter. After that, maybe three more chapters? I've proven that I stink at estimating, so I'm not going to even try to make a forecast for this one. I know where the story is going, and more or less how I'm going to get there, but every now and then a character will start doing things that I hadn't planned on.

Please keep on with this. This is another one better written than jkr. (She can go on for as many as 300 pages with
no one learning anything which could be accomplished in a page or so.)
My thanks to Jeconais as well

I have no doubt that Sirius would be killed and then Narcissa would be raped. Living at the Lodge with weres that can transform when they want would offer quite a bit of protection.
Kokopelli replied:
News flash,Narcissa has already been assaulted, she was just not very forthcoming about it.

If Mrs. Malfoy thinks Big Band Jazz is on the decline in 1981, she might want to check out the recently founded Vienna Art Orchestra or composers/arrangers like Thad Jones, Mel Lewis or Bob Brookmeyer. If she manages to leave Azkaban, that is.
Rumour has it that Big Band aficionados should keep a very close ear on a promising young lady named Maria Schneider. By the time the Triwizard Tournament is reinstated she could be ready to raise to the top of the crop.
Kokopelli replied:
I'll make that suggestion to Narcissa next time we talk, but right now she's a little busy (although she's also bored out of her skull).

Well done! I always wondered how different Harry Potter would be with a few competent adults around . . . and between Alice and Remus, this is shaping up to fit that bill very nicely. Thanks for the time and thanks for sharing!
Kokopelli replied:
That's the problem in JKR's world - there's no responsible adults in his corner.

As usual, compeling story, good plot twists. You're in great shape, Kokopelli. Keep up the good work
