I know you're not really writing anymore, which is a loss for fanfic readers worldwide, as I think this is the beginning for a potentially fantastic story. Any time you want to add to it, I'll be here to read it!
Kokopelli replied:
Thanks for your kind words. I've not stopped completely. The first time I stopped writing it was because my children were all teens and needed more of my time than the fanfic world needed. The children are grown and past college age, so that's no longer an issue. I'm now spending a good amount of time caring for my aging mother-in-law who moved into an assisted living facility with dementia. I still poke at this story - the next chapter is an installment with Susan and Hermione.

Yep, it's official. Someone gave "May you have an interesting life" to Harry as a birth blessing, the rotten (or stupid) sods. Harry's "saving people thing" is alive and well, no surprise. It's nice to see Ginny as more than just a hopeless fangirl, kudos on that.
I also am glad that Tim Joy continues to operate this site (thank you Mr. Joy), for fair use doctrine on copyrighted works, and fanfic authors like yourself who have used their hard-won free time to write stories that help make life more interesting.
Kokopelli replied:
I still hear from Tim from time to time, but he's stopped writing. I hope that's temporary. Thanks for the review.

Quite entertaining and very good in the 'AU split naturally grows as the tree grows' kind of way :)
Thanks!

The whole point of fan fiction is to deal with the "what if" rather than grinding away and retelling JKRs story. I suppose it might be challenging to do the entire canon from another character's perspective, maybe Luna, Susan or Draco, but I'm not at all interested in that task. Thanks for the review.

A well written and insightful take on the summer and the Dementors.

So is Paxton a bit like Jasmine from the letters of summer? As in, a competent helpful adult, who is also kind of mysterious and all that?
Totally was not expecting the Dolores surprise death!
Thanks for sharing
Kokopelli replied:
Paxton would say he's not all that mysterious.
Jasmine was an uber-competent witch in the ninja bodyguard tradition.
One of the many plot holes in JKR's narrative is how the Dementors got from Azkaban to Little Whinging. I'm assuming that they didn't ride the ferry to the mainland and then catch a train. Here I'm painting Dolores as someone who might have been played by Lucius Malfoy.

I actually would have loved this Lockhart, there is so much more complexity here then first appearances like in the book, which only reinforced the shallow nature of the character whereas some depth would have really made for a richer experience overall. Plot bunny for the win!

Interesting view of Lockhart, with more intelligence and compassion than the original.

Nicely done.
I have to admit, I thought fanficauthors was defunct--so it was doubly exciting to see something by you, AND coming from this site.
